Pave and Save the Trail

2013.11.11 bump before 450x600

Would you like to help improve the deteriorating pavement on the Little Miami Trail? Here is a simple step you can take that will cost you nothing but a few minutes of time.

The Friends of the Little Miami State Park have already done what we can to reduce tree roots, grind down bumps and fill cracks and potholes. Much of the trail needs to be resurfaced, an expensive project requiring funding from the state.

The owner of the trail, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, has developed a multi-year plan to repair the ditches, culverts , bridges and riverbanks and then resurface the 50 miles of the trail. But resurfacing is a lower priority and may not begin for years. The Friends of the Little Miami State Park would like to see repaving of the oldest (1983) and most deteriorated sections done sooner.

If you agree, please write, call or email the two Ohio legislators listed below. The Ohio Assembly will begin debating the two year Capital Budget in mid-January, so please take action now.

I am a supporter of the Little Miami State Park. I support the efforts to provide Community-based capital funding to repave sections of the Little Miami Trail that are most damaged and most deteriorated. Repaving will improve the enjoyment and safety of the trail.
