The board fences along our trail are both functional and beautiful, protecting trail users while blending with the natural surroundings. FLMSP volunteers work to keep the fences cleared of vegetation, but sometimes more is needed to keep them strong and looking good. That's where the Fence Crew comes in.
Recent heavy rains, about 5 inches on April 28-29 alone, have left their mark on the trail. They’ve clogged up the culvert inlets that direct water away from the trail, and FLMSP volunteers have been working hard to correct the problems.
As ash trees killed by the emerald ash borer continue to fall in our park, a new generation of native trees is taking their place thanks to the reforestation efforts of FLMSP volunteers.
