Fighting the Flooding

Recent heavy rains, about 5 inches on April 28-29 alone, have left their mark on the trail. They’ve clogged up the culvert inlets that direct water away from the trail, and FLMSP volunteers have been working hard to correct the problems.

As ash trees killed by the emerald ash borer continue to fall in our park, a new generation of native trees is taking their place thanks to the reforestation efforts of FLMSP volunteers.

Trail Popularity Grows

FLMSP’s counting program recorded 1.27 million trail visits in 2016, a 40% increase over last year’s count of 0.9 million. The most popular sections of the trail remain Loveland, Milford, and Fosters.

Eagle Scout Trail Project

It’s a win for everyone. The Little Miami State Park boasts a new kiosk to provide helpful information to trail users, FLMSP gets a big price break on construction, and Tejas Dinesh of Troop 838 in Morrow becomes an Eagle Scout.
